Extra Edition! Diving in Moalboal! A drop-off where Purple Beauty soars into the rumored school of sardines. There were plenty of macros!

We dived in Moalboal because we wanted to see a different kind of sea than Puerto Galera. I’ve always dived in Puerto Galera, so different places are new to me!

Beautiful drop off!

Lovely drop off points everywhere! The island of Pescador was really beautiful, especially with its purple beauty.

So wide that it’s out of sight!

It is exciting to see schools of fish such as the lone trevally, mackerel fish, and hornbills come and go! There were even five turtles in sight at one time. (Pictured is a milkfish.)

Moalboal’s specialty, a school of sardines!

I was able to see it just after entry at the house reef. The wall of sardines is so dark! I want to see Pescador Island next time.

A big, sprawling coral!

The scenery of table coral and sea fans is very beautiful! I’d like to go back to see it on a non-cloudy day.

There are so many different kinds of goby!

Sandy points can be seen especially. We found many kinds of goby in the drop-off gap. (Pictured here is a midgeon goby.)

There are so many different kinds of butterfly fish!

I’ve seen so many of them, but there are so many that I don’t even know which one is which! (The photo shows a kurakake butterflyfish.)

Pescador Island
The dancing of the Purple Beauty on the Cathedral Cave side was absolutely beautiful! I’d love to see another view of the coral blooming below on the slightly moved South side!

Munisipal & Tongo Bay
A shallow sandy point close to the mud that has moved south. You have to be careful of the sand curling up, but it’s super fun! I’d love to go back again and again!

Marine Sanctuary
A point of protected area that has moved northward. The fish, of course, but also the sea fans that spread out at the drop-off, about 2 to 3 meters high, are super nice. This is the point I want to look up from below at Nitrox!
