Talipanan Falls Walking Guide – Enjoy traditional culture, mountains and mountain streams in western Puerto Galera.

It’s not just the beautiful ocean! Puerto Galera has mountains, streams, and waterfalls. In this issue, we’re going to introduce you to a travel guide course that takes you through Talipanan Falls. You can also take a peek into the life of the indigenous “Ilaya Mangyan people”.

Location of Talipanan Falls

It is located to the west of Puerto Galera. It’s near the Japanese hotel KCS, which I introduced the other day.

Where’s the entrance to the waterfall?

You will enter the start point from an alley along the national highway. It is about 50 meters before the luxury hotel “Infinity Resort“.

This is the entrance along the national highway.
This is the entrance to Talipanan Falls. Continue down the alley and you’ll see a gate.
If you go to the back of the gate, you will see the traditional handicraft workshops and shops of the “Ilaya Mangyan Tribe”. You can even watch them at work.

A view of Mangyan Vilage

On the way to the waterfall, you can see the village of the hill tribe “Ilaya Mangyan”, which has a school, a hospital and a basketball court for about 300 people.

Who are the Illya Mangyans people?

Mangyan is the generic name for the eight indigenous groups found on the island of Mindoro, southwest of the island of Luzon, the Philippines, each with its own tribal name, language, and customs.

Go to Talipanan Falls!

It takes about 20 minutes to walk through Manggyan Village, along mountain roads and mountain streams…

We arrived at Talipanan Falls, which is not big, but has very clear water.

A walking trail to experience nature and tradition!

There are several waterfalls in Puerto Galera that are surrounded by nature. Talipanan Falls is easy to get to, even for travelers, and is only about a 20-minute walk from the entrance on the national highway.

Although the goal is nothing more than a waterfall, this is a great place to walk to experience the nature and traditions of Puerto Galera. Trekking while enjoying the nature is the best!

If you make the trek to the “Talipanan Area” west of Puerto Galera…

  1. Visit traditional culture at Mangyan Village.
  2. Cool down in the waterfall after a good sweat on the trek.
  3. Japanese lunch at the restaurant “KCS Minshuku“!
