If you come to the Philippines for a trip, you want to try this local food at least once, at a cheap price. This time we’re going to introduce you to Burp Station!

Location

To get to the restaurant from Muelle, walk east along the road.

This is the “Burp Station”. It is always popular with many Filipino customers.

They’re open 24 hours a day, and you can take out to go too!

You can order drinks, noodles, rice, sandwiches, spaghetti, etc. that you can eat quickly. If you ask the shop, they will give you a menu list. The counter also has a tray of side dishes to choose from.

Introduction to Filipino Noodles

Pansit
It means “noodle” in Tagalog. When it’s a restaurant, it seems to refer to fried noodle in general.

Canton
Cantonese style yellow wheat noodles.

Bihon
Beef noodle with thin noodles.

Miki
It seems to refer to a kind of noodle between ramen and udon.

Lomi
It is a soup noodle with a thick soup.

Guisado
The Tagalog word for “stir-fry”. There seems to be a connotation of “side dish.

Chicharon
Pork skin fried in oil to a crisp.

“Pansit Canton” is a fried noodle. The “Pansit Bihon” is a fried bihon.

Let’s try it!

This is Miki Bihon. It’s a mix of thick noodles and beef noodle, 45 pesos for a regular platter. A large portion costs 60 pesos. It is filled with vegetables such as cabbage and carrots, pork and liver, and is served with chicharon on top of the noodles.

It looks the same, but it’s Miki Guisado. It’s 45 pesos for a regular platter. This is not a mix with beef noodles, but Miki’s only yakisoba.

It’s the standard Lomi for 40 pesos for a regular portion! This is ankake udon with thick noodles that are similar to udon.

Patis (Philippine fish sauce) and chili peppers are available at the table if your taste is not enough.
