When I went to Puerto Galera on spring break, I visited the Mangyan village to meet a minority group of people called the Mangyans.
One of the objectives of this trip is to study the Philippine countryside.
One of them is to meet the children of Mangyan. It was to give me and my sister Emi a gift of children’s clothes that we couldn’t wear anymore.
When we got to the village, we met the kids right away! “Hello, could you please put these clothes on?” I greeted them in Japanese. Then, a lot of people gathered around and all the clothes we brought were gone in no time!
Afterwards, we took pictures with the kids and ate chocolate. The kids throw the trash around there, so I said, “Don’t throw the trash away!” We played together for about an hour.
The view of Puerto Galera Bay from the Mangyan village is very beautiful. A refreshing breeze blew in, and the exhaustion of a 30 minute walk up a steep hill was blown away!
