On May 12, Presidential Office Press Secretary Harry Roque held a press conference to release the changes to the Community Quarantine in various regions of the Philippines. Eastern Mindoro, where Puerto Galera is located, is among the 41 states where the GCQ will be lifted after May 16.
Update May 15: The GCQ has been reapplied by the announcement on the 14th. For more information, click here.
However, new Modified enhanced community quarantine measures will continue to be in place until May 31 in Metro Manila, Laguna Province and Cebu City, where the number of people infected with the new coronavirus remains high.
About the 4 type Modified enhanced community quarantine.
note: It’s a bit confusing, but there was a change in the definition of a community quarantine at this press conference. I think it’s safe to assume that in the future, representation and reporting will be done in four categories.
Highest risk = ECQ
High risk = Modified ECQ
Medium risk = GCQ
Low risk = Modified GCQ
The “de-GCQ” of the Puerto Galera area means that it has been change to a low-risk Modified GCQ area. Although strict quarantine and stay at home rules will be eliminated, basic infection control measures such as wearing masks and adhering to social distance will continue to be necessary.
Low-risk areas (Modified GCQ)
Mindoro, where Puerto Galera is located, falls under REGION IV-B. Other green areas also have been announced as low-risk areas to lift the community sequester.
Low-risk provinces, HUCs, and ICCs shall no longer be under Community Quarantine.

However, the content can change as provinces and cities in the Philippines have until May 13 to make representations to the Interagency Task Force (IATF).
Provinces, HUCs, and ICCs characterized as low, moderate, and high-risk may appeal their classification to the IATF Screening and Validation Committee with the concurrence of the RIATF not later than 13 May 2020.

As in Japan, we can see that they are gradually moving towards the resumption of their activities. Fortunately, there hasn’t been an increase in the number of infected people, but it’s still difficult to move between cities, so let’s hope that we can at least move from Manila after June!
