As of February 2016, the Immigration Branch, previously located in the heart of Puerto Galera, has been discontinued. It’s a shame because it was very convenient for me to apply for a tourist visa if I want to stay in the Philippines for more than 29 days.
If you need a visa renewal or other application within Mindoro Island, you need to go to Calapan City. If you are considering an extended stay in Puerto Galera, we recommend that you check the information as soon as possible.

It is possible to get there from Puerto Galera by jeepney or car charter. From Puerto Galera, Calapan takes a mountain road, which if all goes well, will take about two hours. If you are planning to return to Manila, you may want to apply there. Or you can consult with a reliable travel agency first.
